We are absolutely thrilled and honoured to have our #HeritageWeek22 “Foraging Walk on Cross Strand Event” shortlisted for a county award at the Annual National Heritage Week Awards, taking place virtually next Thursday 20th Oct.
Massive thanks to all who made the events of #HeritageWeek2022 such a success in #Louisburgh #Killeen amazing #volunteers in our #community Will from Walk on the Wild Side ,Steve & Wendy Woo in the Willows , Ecologist Louise Duignan, Killeen Community Council Ltd for a wonderful venue, Mayo County Council Heritage Officer Deirdre Cunningham, all our fellow heritage heads in iCAN, through National Museum of Ireland and The Heritage Council Our Project Manager Lorna Louise Elms and IT Support Hassan Dabbagh.
But it is you the community, the people, who come and support our events and crazy ideas that make all of the volunteering worth while. Our Louisburgh-Killeen Heritage Website is run by the community for the community. Being part of a network like iCAN means we can showcase our local area to the wider national audience and support others who are on the same journey.
The Annual National Heritage Week Awards celebrate the most engaging projects and events organised by National Heritage Week organisers. This year’s virtual awards ceremony will be available to view Here
