  • Hi! I hope you all see this as it’s several years later. My great-grandmother was Mary Gibbons Casey (Born 1877) siblings were Catherine, Richard, Bridget and Marget.

Her parents were William Gibbons (1850-1926) and Margaret Gibbons (1871-1928) They we’re buried in Altoona, PA. I have same information about William’s parents (Peter and Mary) it’s listed in that obituary that siblings are Michael, James and John. I’m wondering if these three brothers are the same?

  • I am related to the Gibbons family on my mother’s side of the family. Her Grandfather was Austin Burke and was married to Mary Gibbons. They were long time residents of Doughmakeon. Several generations of the Burke family resided there.

  • William Gibbons was my great grandfather and I shared this photograph with my Aunt. William Gibbons was her grandfather. We are planning a trip to Ireland next year and would love to visit the town/area where they lived.

We believe the brothers were from Doughmakeon near Louisburgh. I have Williams obituary, it says he was born May 1st 1853. His parents were Peter and Mary Gibbons. He married Margaret Cullivan her parents were Philip and Lydia Cullivan. William came to the United State in 1879. He had three brothers, Michael who stayed in Ireland. James and John came to the United States. We also believe that Michael Gibbons who stayed in Ireland was born 1859 and died in 1926.
