Louisburgh Area Men's Shed- Cart wheel restoration

Using an age old tradition the Louisburgh Area Men’s Shed (LAMS) try their hands at restoring a cart wheel.

The iron was heated in a turf fire to help it expand and then carefully placed on the restored timber wheel.

The wheel getting a make over is part of a full horse cart restoration project using a horse cart from 1930s Louisburgh that can be traced through families and villages right up to the present day 2020.
