Introducing this website

Louisburgh-Killeen Heritage present a short introduction to our archive
Proud & delighted to present our video showcasing the best of Louisburgh & Killeen Heritage. A rural utopia in south west Mayo, wind swept by the Atlantic Ocean with natural breath-taking landscape and enriched by the stories of the people who lived and those who continue to call Louisburgh-Killeen home. Thanks to all who made this video possible by participating and we are especially grateful to our partners in the iCAN Network, National Museum of Ireland, Creative Ireland, The Heritage Council & Ocean Media. We hope you will share & continue to support by sending your memories of Louisburgh & Killeen. There is so much to archive and so many wonderful stories to yet be told. About us

Louisburgh & Killeen Heritage are a small group of volunteers who came together in 2011 to record and preserve the history and heritage of all aspects of life, past and present in Kilgeever Parish. We are here to facilitate and showcase our wonderful community using our beautiful website.

We are passionate about encouraging you, the community, to share your stories and memories. What happens today is history tomorrow!

We’re always interested in new volunteers, so if you would like more information on becoming an editor or being more involved with our website please Contact Us Here
