Introducing this website
Louisburgh & Killeen Heritage in partnership with the National Museum of Ireland-Country Life maintain this open access website and encourage contributions from all.
We are part of the Irish Community Archive Network, a group of community-led websites dedicated to showcasing the local history of Ireland. The iCAN Network and the member websites are the result of a Community Education & Outreach project with the National Museum of Ireland – Country Life, Turlough Park, Castlebar, Co. Mayo
Louisburgh & Killeen Heritage are a small group of volunteers who came together in 2011 to record and preserve the history and heritage of all aspects of life, past and present in Kilgeever Parish. We are here to facilitate and showcase our wonderful community using our beautiful website.
We are passionate about encouraging you, the community, to share your stories and memories. What happens today is history tomorrow!
We’re always interested in new volunteers, so if you would like more information on becoming an editor or being more involved with our website please Contact Us Here
