iCAN Network Meeting September 2019

On September 16th 2019 Louisburgh-Killeen Heritage were delighted to welcome members of the iCAN Network to Louisburgh for our quarterly meeting. Our network meeting took place in the Derrylaghan and was a very enjoyable day.

Fantastic group in the iCAN network

We had members attend from Ballinrobe, various parts of County Galway & as far a field as County Clare. We also welcomed our new Network Administrator Hassan Dabbagh, who is married to a Louisburgh woman!

After the usual order of business including updates from members we were treated to a wonderful brief history of the foundation of Louisburgh town by local historian John Lyons. Also on display were some of our local Parish magazines An Choinneal.

After a delicious lunch in Tia Cafe some members took a bus tour of the area to include some archaeological sites and showcased some of our beautiful landscape. We were blessed with the fine weather and great company on the day.

We wish to thank most sincerely Marcus in the Derrylaghan, Ana in Tia Cafe, Michael from Kilcoyne Bus tours, and to all our iCAN members along with National Museum of Ireland staff, who attended on the day.

Thanks to Lorna & Christy for capturing the day in photos.

Our Network is growing steadily and we are excited for the possibilities ahead.
