It was a cool but dry Saturday morning on 27th August 2022 when the volunteers once again gathered to get stuck in to the next phase of drainage in Kilgeever Cemetery.

An amazing one hundred and sixty five meters of land drain pipe was completed in a few short hours by teamwork from the most enthusiastic hard working group of volunteers.

An absolute credit to the parish to have so many willing and able bodies to support the on-going improvement works.

Many thanks to the landowners adjacent to Kilgeever Cemetery for their sincere support to the project. This is community action at its best.

The volunteers brought all their own tractors, mini diggers, shovels and spades and elbow grease, to see the next phase of drainage completed.

In these trying times of rising fuel costs, we are so grateful to each and everyone of these amazing men for their unbelievable work rate and support.

The community spirit and “meitheal” is very much alive in Louisburgh.

Thank you to all who continue to donate to this very worth while project.

We will continue to work on the development plan and hope to have a public presentation in the coming months.
