Biodiversity Information Evening

Come along to Killeen Community Centre Thursday 16th June 2022 at 7:30pm for a biodiversity information evening hosted by Louisburgh-Killeen Heritage.
Learn how to identify local native flora and fauna, hear about the benefits of recording local species, with professional local ecologist Louise Duignan.
We have expert advice on the many uses of wild herbs and flowers and an insight into the production of these wonderful homemade products by Wendy Woo.
We are so happy to have had the participation of three wonderful ladies from Estonia, here on Erasmus + student exchange program. These ladies have been recording and photographing areas of interest in the Killeen looped walks. Thanks to Eithne O’Malley for facilitating and Mayo College of Further Education and Training (MCFET) for supporting this initiative.
On the night we will also be discussing our National Heritage Week project for 2022. HINT; it might have something to do with biodiversity……
Everyone is welcome and light refreshments provided.
