Famine Walk Art Project 2012

Killeen NS pupils mark Annual Walk

Mary O'Malley

On the 19th May 2012 the Annual Famine Walk from Doolough to Louisburgh took place. Pupils from Killeen NS participated by making some wonderful old houses and ruins using modeling clay.

The art work was on display in Louisburgh town hall while the registration for the walk took place. It added a colourful splash to an otherwise sad memory of the Famine. The children designed and made the art by themselves and many commented on the talent present in children so young.
