Lock Down 2020

Covid 19 Stay Home
gov.ie

The past few weeks have been very strange and difficult. The outbreak of Coronavirus (Covid 19) has caused a worldwide pandemic that has never been seen nor heard of before.

We have all had to stay at home, only making essential journeys for shopping or pharmacy, schools closed and all non essential workers at home, with our over 70s population “Cocooning”. A challenging and changing time in our history and our future. However the worst appears to be over, with life slowly starting to emerge in different sectors, albeit under new strict guidelines but with a focus on getting the economy back on track.

Our own area of Louisburgh & Killeen has once again shown the Community Spirit that it is so renowned for. We have witnessed one act of kindness after another, with solidarity while staying apart at the core.

In this section we hope to bring you stories from the past few weeks, real life stories and experiences from locals who share their thoughts and perspectives on Covid 19.

Please feel free to email us or comment if you also would like to share your story, we especially love to hear from our diaspora.
