The children from 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th classes at Scoil Naisiunta Padraig Naofa took part in a very rewarding and fulfilling local history project recently.
One of our parents approached the school principal and asked if the children would collect stories and folklore from their parents, grandparents, neighbours etc. The children were assigned the work as a homework project and the response was fantastic.
In a two week period the children interviewed, researched and recorded busily at home in the evenings. As a result we have collected a wealth of stories and traditions that may well have been lost.
All this information is now recorded and stored thanks to the Louisburgh & Killeen Heritage website.
We were delighted to be part of such a worthwhile educational project
